Volvo Construction Equipment is among the world’s leading manufacturers of articulated haulers and wheel loaders, and one of the world’s foremost manufacturers of excavation equipment, road development machines and compact construction equipment.

Volvo Construction Equipment had another record year in 2007. Net sales increased by 27%* to SEK 53.6bn. We sold more than 64,000 machines, an increase of 72% compared with 2006. New Product development also saw great activities with the launch of over 40 new models.

Volvo Construction Equipment has also recently undertaken significant acquisitions Shandong Lingong Construction Machinery - one of the largest players in the Chinese wheel loader market - in January 2007 and in May 2007, we bought the road development business of Ingersoll Rand, which supplies soil and asphalt compactors, pavers and milling machines.

The two acquisitions boosted employee numbers by 29% and added a further 80 new product models to the complete range.
